Since the United States of America came into being, it has witnessed 44 presidents who acted not only as the head of state, but head of government of the United States of America and Commander-in-Chief of the armed forced. Their duty impacts lives of millions of people and helps the nation prosper. Americans have yet another very important decision to make. Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton are two major candidates for the 2016 presidential elections with voters having to decide who would prove to be the better candidate for the United States of America.

Clinton's Background

Candidates have traits judged by a massive audience even before their political campaigns began. Their backgrounds have been firmly examined by people since they could provide essential insight about their abilities and weaknesses, their accomplishments in the field of politics and in their personal lives. Professional background of Hillary, nominee of the democratic party, reflects her sophisticated to perform the duty of the President. Her biography is filled with experiences she gained in the field of politics. She was an Assistant Professor at the University of Arkansas Law school. Her service on the editorial board of the Yale Review of Law and Social Action also enlightens the potential she has in the field of politics and Law. Hillary also marked a tremendous milestone when she ran for Senate election of 2000, becoming the very first women in United States to get elected for office. This doesn’t only show her commitment to her hard work but also demonstrate her passion for achieving something that has never been done before.

Trump's Background

Trump on the other hand looks a tough guy on screen, but examining his background brings into concern a devastating fact that he has no political experience what so ever. He is billionaire real estate torpedo following his father’s career. Trump certainly did very well academically entering Wharton School of Finance at the University of Pennsylvania, where he graduated earning a degree in economics. This degree helped him in achieving milestones in business creating hotels, casinos and real states. Due to his achievements in the business sector, it is believed that Trump would impact the economy of the country alleviating unemployment, poverty and scarcity of resources. However, it should not be dismissed from the mind that the Trump organizations have filed over six bankruptcies. A president is required to Execute laws, run the armed forces, negotiate with other countries and tasks that require enormous effort and skills that a candidate should already have. With options having Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump, it won’t be inaccurate to believe that Trump would be ineffective in executing the duties of a president.

Clinton's Plan

Candidates have their own distinct approach to resolve the issues that exist. They have different beliefs and mindset that they present to the people. Hillary has made sure to cut down health care costs to help the people in need. She believes that the health care should be universal, premium and affordable for everyone in America. It is fascinating how Hillary has planned to make America great again. She has recognized that the only way for America to prosper is to help youth build them self and promises to set afloat a nationwide campaign to renovate and elevate the profession of teaching. Majority of school in the United States don’t offer computer science, but America has kept up the pace with excelling in technologies that never existed before. There are now more than half a million available jobs in the field of computing skills. Hillary plans to provide states and school district funding that would help spread the knowledge of computing skills.

Trump's Plan

Donald trump’s plan on the other side seems to focus heavily upon deporting immigrants and closing the border of United States. This issue has always been controversial. It is fact that America is a nation of immigrants. The journey and the success would frankly not be possible without the tireless effort of generations of immigrants who have come here from various places on the globe. Per the National Venture Capital Association, 25 percent of the public United States companies are started by immigrants that includes Google, eBay, Yahoo!, Sun Microsystems, and Intel. That has certainly helped in increasing the GDP of America and creating more jobs. However, the plan Donald Trump is trying to adopt for the United States does exactly the opposite. The American Action Forum, a policy institute based in Washington D.C., depicts that if Donald’s immigration Law is enforced immediately, it would cost the federal government around $400 billion to $600 billion. Also, this plan would shrink the labor force by 11 million people and reduce the real GDP by $1.6 trillion. Surprisingly Trump said he could achieve it in just 18 months.

PolitiFact

Politicians often get caught lying as their claims are always not true putting them in trouble. PolitiFact, project of the Tampa Bay Times, help people find the truth and lies politicians tell. It’s hard to conceive that Trump’s statements were awarded Politifact’s 2015 Lie of the year. Up till 6/29/2016, only 2.53% of Trump’s claims were rated true. This is no way depicts that Hillary doesn’t lie but comparing it to Donald’s score, she got 13.33% of her claims to be true.
Election is on rise and Americans are looking forward to having another great president as Obama. It is a civil duty to vote and to know the candidates better so that a better candidate can be chosen among the options. To be able to vote is a huge responsibility on every citizens shoulders and to be able to fulfill it, knowing the candidates, their beliefs, their background and the impact they promise to make on the country is very important. Hillary seems to be the better candidate than Donald Trump for the United States of America. Running a country isn’t an easy job and having experience already would help Hillary make America a better place to live. The Last time a businessman was in office (Jimmy Carter) the economy bashed.
